Clean Your Mind

“Everyone takes a shower to get rid of the dirt on their physical bodies. So, doesn’t it only make sense to clean your mind from all of the negative garbage from the outside world?” ~~John Di John Lemme

“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to pulling down of strongholds; Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalted itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.” (2 Cor. 10:4-5, KJV)

Everyone takes a shower to get rid of the dirt on their physical bodies. So, doesn’t it only make sense to clean your mind from all of the negative garbage from the outside world?  Think about that if we take a shower to clean the dirt of our body then why we can’t clean all of the negative thoughts out of our mind. Negative thoughts are nothing but dirt and poison in our mind. It clogs our mind from preventing positive things in our mind. When things especially negative things clog your mind, it doesn’t allow you to think the right things and continue through life effectively. Put things in priority and do those things first. Once that thing is done, you don’t have to think or dwell on that anymore. Keep doing that and before you know it, your mind is free and clear. When you have negative thoughts you are your own prisoners of negativity. Too bad our minds don’t have a delete button. It is very important that we need to cleanse the inner vessel because it affects our outer appearance. You are getting rid of that garbage in your mind.

Do you know that negative thoughts usually are the center on what has already happened in the past and what might happen in the future?  Some people keep on holding on what had happen to them in their past and worry what might happen in their future. You need to move on from the past and don’t let it hold you back. If you stay in your past you will miss out on the greatness in your future. For you to experience a great future you can’t hold on to your past just let it go.“Behold I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” (Luke 10:19, KJV) You need to invest yourself in the present. Just concentrate on the now only so you won’t waste time in worrying about the past and the future. By only present on only in now you are prepared to just experience the present. Nobody knows what the future holds for them just focus on the present. God will work it out for you.

Another negative thought that people are experiencing in their life is lack of confidence. I had heard individuals that I can’t do this. They had made up in their mind without trying and saying that I can’t. You can change that negative thoughts into “I can do this” or Yes I can.” You see how positive that statement is. All you have to do is take “I Can’t” from your mind and from your vocabulary list. Remember I can do all things through Christ Jesus that strengthen me.  Another word we need to clear from our mind is “Impossible.” All you have to do is replace the word Impossible with “I am Possible.” You see how powerful that statement is. Another example is think about a runner is about to run in a race and he/she think and said that “I’m not going to win this race,” change that thinking into “I choose to be a winner!” By doing this you are building up your confidence and help steer your mind from a negative mindset into a positive mindset. You are heading in the right direction. With God help he will direct your steps in the right direction.

Negative thoughts can cause such devastating effects in all areas of life. People don’t like to be around somebody that is always negative. On a job if you are negative then your co workers will do their best to avoid you. They will not want to be around you when you are grumpy. If you are the type of person that always complaining about something on your job people will only come to you if dealing with work otherwise they don’t want to be bother with you. Your negative thinking will make people feel very uncomfortable to be around you. Negativity can affect you internally as well. They can pervade every single bit of your life and will prevent great things coming your way. Negativity will make your life more difficult than it needs to be. Negative thoughts are helping your mind make you to have self doubt. Negative thoughts is poison and garbage in your mind. Negative thoughts can put a serious damage to your decision making skills as well. It can prevent you from doing the things you’ve always wanted to do and from saying the things you want to say. That’s not much of a life anyone really want to live by. You don’t have to let negativity take over your life. You can prevent it by changing the way of your thinking. Change is very important in everybody life if we want to experience great things. Don’t let change break you, but embrace it, and let it make you. “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” (2 Cor 5:17 KJV) God wants you to move up a level, but you must first build a staircase of change to get there. If you embrace the new changes in your life by changing the way of your thinking then you can start living a life that is more meaningful and be happier as well.

If  you want to have a more progress life then you need to change your mindset from a negative one to a positive one. Here are several tips on how to think positively:

1. Display a more positive emotional and mental attitude toward yourself, to other people and situations.
2. Refuse to participate in negative inner dialogues. It’s just a waste of time and energy.
3. Don’t allow disappointments, difficulties and obstacles affect your moods and state of mind.
4. Refuse and reject negative thinking. Either replace negative thoughts with positive thoughts, or engage yourself in some activity that will divert your attention from the negative thoughts.
5. Don’t allow what people think and say affect your mind and mood.
6. Associate with people who bring something of value into your life. Avoid people who sap your energy and enthusiasm. If you can’t avoid them, learn how stay detached when you are in their company.
7. Say positive things about yourself and about other people.
8. Share this positive message with someone.

By you sharing this with someone you are helping others as well. Remember being negative can be contagious. Being positive in your life can be contagious to someone in their life as well. You are spreading that powerful energy to others. Just remember that you need to take a mental shower to clean all of those negative thoughts out of your mind. You should be wondering who is in your surroundings that you need to be around with or who do you need to delete from your life.
