Don’t Be Attached To Your Past

Most people are too attached to the past, to what they are familiar with, and therefore, miss opportunities that stand right in front of them. Doors may close but there are always new doors that will open that will reach to our new opportunities. The world is full of opportunities, if we could only see them. The Infinite Power is boundless, and so the possibilities are without number. At some point in our life we had all made mistakes, been walked on, had been used and forgotten. We’ve let people take advantage of us, and we have accepted way less than we deserve in our lives. But we shouldn’t regret one moment of it because in those precious moments we must learn from bad choices that we had made. We have learned who we can trust and who we can’t. We have learned the true meaning of friendship.  We’ve learned how to tell when people are lying to us in our face and when they’re very sincere.  We have learned how to be ourselves and appreciate the great people that had come into our lives. The great things that had blossom in our lives that came from the Lord. That is truly a gift from him. Even though there are some things that we can never recover and people who will never be sorry for the way that they had treated us. That hard life lesson we now know better for the next time.

Some people don’t appreciate what they have in their lives. In every mistake and struggle there is a message. Some people miss the message because they’re too busy berating themselves for the mistake that they had made or fretting over their problem. To be upset about what you don’t have is always a waste of what you do have.  We as Christian don’t believe that we are the luckiest people in the world to be happy. We usually don’t have the best of everything in the world but we just make the most of everything that comes our way because we know that the Lord had bless us. We are thankful that the Lord had made a way out of no way. The reason so many people give up is because they tend to look at what’s missing and how far they still have to go, instead of what’s present, and how far they have come. You need to focus on what you have and not on what you don’t have. When you appreciate in what you do have and what you have appreciates in value.  Being grateful for the goodness that is already evident in your life will bring you a deeper sense of happiness. And that’s without having to go out and buy or acquire anything new.  It makes sense.  You will have a hard time ever being happy if you aren’t thankful for what you already have.

You need to focus on being the best that you can be. Give it your all in everything that you do and commit to your goals. Please do yourself a favor do not compare yourself to anybody else.John Wooden had said in his quote “Success and happiness is peace of mind, which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you made the effort to do your best to become the best that you are capable of becoming.”  Never try to be better than anyone else, but never stop trying to be the best you can be.  If you feel called to compare yourself to someone, compare yourself to an earlier version of yourself.

Some people feel that they aren’t ready because they aren’t good enough yet. Nobody ever feels 100% ready when an opportunity arises in their lives. Opportunities do not wait for nobody. You need to chase after those opportunities. Most great opportunities in life force us to grow beyond our comfort zones. We won’t feel totally comfortable at first but that is normal because that is part of life when we tried something new. You have to get out of that comfort zones or being safe because you will not be able to experience that growth. Stop berating yourself for being a work in progress. We are all in a work in progress that is part of growing in life. Every day I am in work in progress thank God I am not what I used to be. Start embracing your new growth because being a work in progress doesn’t mean you’re not good enough today. It does shows that you do want a better tomorrow and you wish to love yourself so that you can live your life to the fully.  It means you’re determined to heal your heart, expand your mind and cultivate the gifts you know you’re meant to share with others. That is what the Lord does command for us. With God on your side you know now that you are ready.  You just need to start and stop making excuses. There is never a right time you just need to start.

Always have a great positive attitude. What often screws us up the most in life is the picture in our head of how it’s supposed to be.  And the reason so many of us give up is because we tend to look at how far we still have to go, instead of how far we have come.  Remember, life is a journey, not a destination. This moment, like every moment, is a priceless gift and an opportunity.  Be positive, smile, and make it count. Pretend today is going to be great.Do so and it will be.Although we think that we act because of the way we feel, in fact, we often feel because of the way we act.  A great attitude always leads to great experiences.
