What a tremendous blessing the “Words that work” series of books has been to me and my family. They are very powerful little books and that power comes from the Word of God each book contains. Each of us needs reassurance and help in different seasons in our lives and these books provide just that. I recommend them highly and without reservation.

Can you be completely victorious over fear, anxiety and worry? Everytime? All the time?

Book Review About How Can I Fight Fear And Anxiety? Using The Words That Work

“How Can I Fight Fear And Anxiety? – Using The Words That Works” is an awesome book that will empowers victory over your life. I can truly say that this Author, P.L. Peace created this book in the purpose using the Words of God to have the power to produce victory in the heart and life of the readers. Although in order for the Words of God to have the power to change us and our circumstances, we must know exactly what we believe. We can believe in God and Jesus Christ. Yes it is great that we do but it isn’t enough. We must surrender our lives to Christ and Thou Shall be saved. In the Book of James, the second Chapter, and the nineteen verse mentioned ” Thou believes that there is one God; thou doest well: the devil also believe, and tremble.” We must be saved because then we have the legal right (as a Child of the King) to use the Word of God with authority and power, and God will back it up.

The Word of God is our formidable arsenal that is the Sword of the Spirit. It also represents the Angels as ministers to theirs of Salvation and the all- wise Holy Spirit as the Comforter and Adviser. With all of this on our side, we are invincible. We must be encourage. I know when I read through the entire scriptures that was provided. I am actually planted a powerful seed. I will continue to water that seed with the Words of God ( The Living Water) and Prayers (Mecidines).

Three different names that are in essence, the polar opposite of peace and faith are Fear, Worry and Anxiety. They are horrible, oppressing, and panicky feeling. I can relate because I had a panic attack in 2014 during the Summer. I suffer from Depression, PTSD and Anxiety. At that time I was facing being homeless from losing everything after being laid off from my job of 18 years at Morgan Stanley. I also dealing with challenges from my so called friends caused me to be so stressed out. I decided to go to the emergency room at Kings County Hospital. They gave me a hard time going off on me mentioned, we just discharge you on Friday and now you are back today I told them that I am not getting any better. They told me, we send you to the Homeless Shelter. I told them that it is a shelter for the homeless and not a hospital or clinic. I thank God that I decided to go back to the hospital. If I haven’t, I probably would have been dead. I advocate for myself for decent medical and mental treatment. I didn’t know that I had High Blood Pressure. My pressure was over 200 and I should have been dead. It was the Grace of God that I am still here. I was hospitalized about two months and I made sure that I read the Books of Psalm on a daily basis. I thought I lost my faith but I actually let my Faith goes into action. The doctors and nurses and Social Worker couldn’t tear me down because of my Faith In God. I spoke life into existence and claim the victory. After my stay in the hospital and my journey of recovery, I got rid of all of those dead weight that was holding me back. I let go of so called friends because they weren’t doing me any good. Today I am a published Author, an advocate for Mental Health and a Mental Health Peer Specialist at Metropolitan Hospital in NYC. Regardless of the storms of life are raging but it is only temporary. God will clear the storms in our lives. I am a living testimony.  I recommend Everyone to read this book for yourself. I am going to read this book again as my Bible Study Guide since there are a lot of scriptures to back up the title of this book. I am also going to is this book in my line of Career as a Mental Health Peer Specialist to teach my clients during our recovery group. I am going to read more books like this one and by this Author. This book came just in time for me as I am starting my new chapter as a Peer Specialist.

About The Book:

Small town science teacher Keith Bradley climbs into a red Tesla with English teacher Talia Ramin for the field trip of a lifetime. At stake is a missing copy of the Scriptures on gold tablets. At risk is the trust of an ancient order sworn to keep the tablets safe.

Talia’s archaeologist aunt and uncle may have lost their last clue to artifact thieves. A government ultimatum might undo every lesson they have taught their students about keeping the Word safe.

from Chapter Eighteen – “Are You So Selfish?”

“What?” Keith jumped up. “What are you saying? We’re supposed to take the kids’ Bibles away from them? Their prayer journals? Their memory cards?”

“There’s no need to be defensive.” Doctor Williams glared up at him. “Please be seated. You will only be borrowing them, to get them scanned. And we want materials from everyone in the community. Parents, grandparents, ministers – Anyone who studies the Bible. Don’t you see? This will become a resource people all over the world can use, for all time. Mr. Bradley, your prayers, your thoughts, your study of the Bible could teach someone in Thailand, Mali, Alaska – someone in a spaceship traveling to Mars – these insights will become eternal.”

“But it’s voluntary, right?” Talia asked. “People don’t have to give us their Bibles, do they?”

“This program fails if it doesn’t accomplish the critical goal of gathering all the possible data,” Doctor Williams insisted.

“What exactly do you mean by ‘this program fails’?” Keith’s dad demanded.

“It doesn’t fulfill the requirements,” Doctor Williams said. “It doesn’t qualify for the grants.”

“You mean we lose everything we’ve gotten from implementing the Bible as Literature program?” Principal Bradley choked.

“Really, there’s nothing scary or unreasonable being asked for here. Are your Bible studies secret? Why does the idea of sharing them with the world disturb you? Are you that selfish?”

The Great Thirst Book Review:

This is the first novel I have read of Findley’s, “The Great Thirst : Prepared”. The Great Thirst: Prepared”  was supposed to one full-length work, but Findley decided to break it up into three novels. This action by Mary C. Findley has one very delightful effect and that is to what your appetite more than enough for the next instalment. I really enjoyed this great Christian Novel that accompanied with an Archaeological Mystery. What caught my attention was the subject matter, a missing copy of the Scriptures on gold tablets and the quest by those in the know to find and protect it. This set in motion for me with a theme of mystery, suspense, intrigue, good versus evil, spiritual warfare and a motive to show the importance of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and what the Gospels means for all mankind. So I am passionate about The Great Thirst Archaeological Mystery Series. Findley prosperously hides in plain sight the main character, Talia Ramin, as the new English Literature teacher. Findley also has Talia teach a subject as Bible as literature as a sub-plot and this implement much spiritual aspects in this novel, as Talia explains, “…..we will not just be explaining how ancient literature compares to the Bible. We are going to get the knack of how to be discerning about ancient writings-how to tell the truth from error in what’s being taught by historians, archeologists. This course will prepare you to know truth when you see it.” Findley then implement more sub-plots with romance between Talia and Keith, Talia having a unique connection with Keith’s disabled sister. Then there is the hints to Talia’s past, Talia talking out loud while she is alone about protecting her identity and her true purpose, a Sprinter van that is trying to scare and scare her. Reason unexplained, but adds to the mystery and intrigue about her past and the link between this and the search for the missing Scripture scrolls.

This is a simple read and very entertaining. It is in a groove for young adult and I can see them enjoying this, including readers like me who isn’t a young adult although that still resides in me! Discovering some of Findley’s background for teaching and evangelising the message of the Gospel, I can visions her including some wonderful teaching moments while still making it very entertaining without being preachy. Youth love being taught when it is fun so she has a wonderful platform here for this. I can truly see that “The Great Thirst”  is one very promising series and I am very much looking forward to the complete package. A Fun, Entertaining Christian Novels that is Full of Mystery and Intrigue Concerning The Bible. This was an exceptional, expeditious read. The only thing I didn’t care for “The Great Thirst”  was the ending. I found it wasn’t very pleasant because there was no conclusion to the conflict at hand. Other than that, I loved it! Findley expertly construct valid Bible teachings and plot together in a wonderful harmony that is sure to please readers that appreciated the scriptures of the Bible.

After reading this Christian Book, I felt that I’d gain many knowledges from many valid truths, and her scriptural knowledge was quite well-informed. Mary either went to a theologian in the writing of “The Great Thirst” or is a long time Bible Study Student. I found the Character of Keith and Talia to be very engaging characters as well. We’re left fascinated if there is yet any romance to come between those two. (My assumption is that it will come about in one of the sequels). If you have someone who is curious about Jesus or Christianity, this would be a great fictional story to pass along to them to nurture them into an abounding awareness of faith and what it means to be a Christian. I’ve truly believed that this Christian novel is Highly entertaining and enlightening at the same time, it is so deep into the scriptures that you’ll find this book a great joy to read. I’d recommend this book to both saved and unsaved people alike. I Love the archeological dimension. Extremely interesting. Challenged me to remember to live my life so that Christ’s love can be seen through my character. Just think about it , The Power of Your Testimony is how you treat each others. This truly a Christian Novel that is tremendous, bible based and unique all in once. I am looking forward to reading the rest of the books in The Great Thirst Archaeological Mystery Series. This is a winner of a Christian Series with great characters that even this book is focus about archaeological mystery but it is blend with bible principles. This is another way to be introduced to Christ or having a better understanding about the Word of God by reading this great read.

Keys To The Kingdom: Get Your Kingdom Keys and Receive Power Book Review:

“And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” Matthew 16:19

This is an awesome Life Changing book that I have read recently. “Keys To The Kingdom: Get Your Kingdom Keys and Receive Power” is a perfect read for those individuals that want a revival or renewal in their Christian Living. This book is a very uplifting not only for the young people but also for anyone that are lost and dealing with obstacles in their life. This book have really empower me to become a conqueror after having problem coping with my daily walk of life. It is also help me to have knowledge of finding my pathway to God through these powerful keys of the Kingdom. This is a truly a life changing (renewal) manual that caused a transformation in the way that we glimpse about life. The purpose for Minister Keishan Scott to write “Keys To The Kingdom: Get Your Kingdom Keys and Receive Power” to empower the readers to get a better and profound relationship with God and for them to be able to receive God in His Eternity, and all of the signs and wonder that follow Him. The Keys To The Kingdom can be used to lock doors as well as open them. That key is faith and it is so necessary. Faith without works is dead. So without faith in Christ, that door to heaven is shut and barred. In the Book of John, the 3rd Chapter and the 18th verse mentioned“Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.” In the act of the apostles preaching the Gospel, those individuals who acknowledge in faith and repentance were granted access to the Kingdom of Heaven; yet those individuals who continued to harden their hearts and dismiss the Gospel of God’s saving grace were locked out of the Kingdom. In the Books of Acts, the 8th Chapter and the 23rd verse mentioned “For I see that you are in the gall of bitterness and in the bond of iniquity.”

One of the things that I love the most and that minister to me about The Keys To The Kingdom were about with those Kingdom Keys we are free in Christ. Christ has set us free from Sin and Death. Christ has set us free so we can love others. Freedom was given to us by Christ so we are free to do all things as long it contains to God’s word. We as Christians should not take our freedom for granted at all. He have given that to us for free and he didn’t have to do it. We should be Giving Him praise in advance because Christ didn’t have to do it but he has done that for us. So we should be grateful for our freedom. Not only that we have freedom but we also have forgiveness. Although we do things that doesn’t make any sense it may seem like it is all gone. The drawing power about that it is still there, although God can allows things seem like they may not be there. The reasons of that as quickly God gives us something and He can also take it away to teach us a lessons. God can see that it does not belong in your life or that isn’t helping taking your life to the next level. Keshian Scott mentioned in this book when he was called to preach at 7 years old but people told him that he didn’t have experienced enough to be ordained and not old enough. Keshian didn’t allow anyone to interrupt his calling from God. It doesn’t matter how old are you because God is looking at your heart. God can call people whenever and when He does call, you must follow. God told Keshian that he wanted him to preach and write a book. He trusted the Will of God and allow himself to receive wisdom, knowledge, and for the understanding of the Word of God. After completed reading “Keys To The Kingdom”, my life hasn’t been the same. I experienced growth in my personal life, professional life and most importantly my Christian faith. Thank You Keshian Scott for allowing God to guide the pen with your anointed hand to write a powerful messages about the Keys to The Kingdom. I pray that this book will ministers to somebody right now that don’t know Christ or struggling with their faith with Christ. This book will caused somebody to surrender their life to Christ and they too can experiences their own Keys To The Kingdom. This book is a must read for everyone desires to receive that special key in their life.

When All Praise Break Loose Book Review:

Candice Y. Johnson really created another another power punched story “When All Praise Breaks Loose” in the Practice What You Praise series. Candice picks up where she left us standing from the last book “Practice What You Praise For” the scene continues with Ephinany, Pastor Trigg, JoJo and many of the characters that we met in that narrative. In the introduction page, we discover Epiphany stick around off stage to minister in dance during the Home Going Services of one of the young members of DIP’s praise dance team, and Piff (her illustrious nickname) attributes her death to the girl’s stepfather, DIP’s minister of music who used to be Epiphany’s fiance. And get this, she was asked to minister the dance by her ex boo’s wife. This anointed Author touched on many sensitive situations that affect us in real life – child abuse, church bullying, depression, anger, jealousy – both inside and outside of the church. She takes us on another trip into the Church House. She allows us to have a peek into some of the other characters lives that we met in the last book “Practice What You Praise For”. “When All Praise Breaks Loose” accomplished an even an exceptional task of illustrate this author’s complex gift. In this narrative the spotlight is on broke, busted and disgusted Epiphany James. She loves her church, Deliverance in Praise (DIP- the church has a nickname), most of the members of the congregation, the praise dance team members she ministers with and to and she’s in love with her Pastor Tripp Dennis. This story will make you laugh, angry, smile, scold, and cry. In her writings, Candice draws a picture to minister to us that God’s mercy is unfailing and renews every morning and all we have to do is to use our weapon that is praise so we should practice what we praise for. Our Praise Is Our Weapon To Fight The Enemy!

Readers should be able to relate to some of the situations presented in this story, even though it is a narrative based of Christian Fiction, she go to the effort of to actually present real life situations that are happening in today’s world inside and outside of the church. This narrative will have evaluating somethings in your family especially if you have teenage children. It will especially bless you if you are a leader in ministry and deal with gifts such as dance, musicians etc… In my personal opinion Candice Y. Johnson has a writing style that has to be experienced to be believed. I don’t remember the last time when I’ve laughed so much while reading a book. But you may also discover yourself between these pages, you might even learn several lessons through the characters. “When All Praise Breaks Loose” will give the readers life while reading this story. “When All Praise Breaks Loose” is about family, relationships, reconciliation, redemption, and hope for that expected end God has promised, especially if like Epiphany, you are currently “in the midst of blessings.” Candice Johnson makes sure that she paints a picture of each scene strongly with extraordinarily humor and style, using today’s ordinary and circumstances that could have been filmed at your House of Worship. So you will get to know the good folks at Deliverance In Praise Church. The Readers will be taught through the Characters and just like me, you will definitely fall in love with the writing style of Candice Johnson. Before reading this story, you must read the first book “Practice What You Praise For” so you will experience the full effect and have a better understanding of this series. Your Praise Is Your Weapon!

I Don’t Look Like What I Been Through 2 Book Review:

An astounding story! The Second Part of this narrative “I Don’t Look Like What I’ve Been Through” will continue keep you turning pages into the midnight hours. Part two begins where Part one of “I Don’t Look Like What I’ve Been Through” break off. I truly love the fact that Jeneica Johnson made a decisions to take the readers through trouble time with these lively characters. This can be a learning part for the reader, during our LOWEST POINTS in life, it is there that God is surely able to work with us and comfort us SHED the things of this world that we can become truly dependent upon Him. It is during the Storms of Life that we can determine how to lean and depend on the Lord. He will deliver us because our Hope is in Him. Dennis got numberless second chances with Eva. Can’t wait to see what happens to them. Dennis just got too comfortable with Eva because she always forgiven. Dennis thought he could do anything to her. Occasionally you have to love folks from a distance. Eva gotta stop thinking Brandon is judging her & get the picture that no kid wants to see their parent hurting the other. Brandon’s opinion about his father didn’t bother me! Brandon & Kierra relationship continue to be so fascinating from being friends to lovers.I was pleased that Kierra realized how her past relationship with Dez was effecting her current relationship with Brandon. In my personally opinion Dez & Tam deserve everything that was coming to them. I like the fact about how Brandon took on the role of being the father to Taylor from the beginning. Nard was such a great father to Kierra, despite of him being in prison and miss the first 20 years of her life. Bit I love the fact that Kierra and Nard established a Father and daughter relationship which it was a positive one. Nard enters the scene just in time to make sure Dez doesn’t cause harm to his family.

Brandon Auger demonstrate his best to prove to Kierra to give him a chance to be with her. I am so glad Kierra decided to give Brandon a chance. They found happiness together as Husband and Wife. Brandon truly show love through his action toward Taylor as his own daughter was so sweet. He will do anything to protect his family. The thing I love about this continue story is the way how Jeneica minister to the readers about the power of forgiveness through the Character of Nard who is Kierra’s father. Even though Tamika did Nard so wrong but he still loved Tamika.Tamika choose the wrong path and paid to a great extent for it. With confidence, I hope she sees the error of her ways and begins to improve herself so that she can love others. Alcoholism and being unfaithful in a marriage with the character of Dennis. Dennis and Eva are one again in rocky grounds. I love the fact the Eva continued to prove that no matter for during you think you are, you agree nothing without God. I hope that Dennis and Eve can find a way to be heal and let go of the pain. Finally I hope that Dennis will go to treatment in recovery for his alcoholism. Alcoholism is a sickness and it caused damages to the family. This was a great story also about salvation. In summary to the title of this narrative is God will work out everything for us and He took us all down on a different path but Thank God we don’t look like what we have been through. That’s is my testimony. I am ready to read more great story by this anointed Author, Mrs. Jeneica Johnson. I recommend this book for everyone to read.

About This Book:

In the past year Detective Josephine “Jo” Reed-Powell brought down one of the most notorious serial killers in a decade in Charlotte-Mecklenburg County. When Jo arrives at a new crime scene, something seems very familiar to her. She immediately thinks she may be dealing with a copycat killer. Or is she?

How can she keep her mind on finding a killer when her life is falling apart? Jo is struggling with her shattered marriage knowing her husband, Bryan Powell, has had an affair. As Jo questions the twists and turns of her murder investigations, can she let God mend her broken heart?

Broken Heart Book Review:

Is it possible be able to revive from a shatter heart? We can make a visit to our medical doctor for so many illness and get medicines to help ease the pain; what do we have for a shatter heart. I believe Detective Jo will discover the answer to our question in a way that we all should. Tyora Moody is an anointed gifted author with breath of life, the stories that she created are filled with the purpose about family, Christ, suspense and intrigue. Broken Heart is the first book in the Reed family series and I was appreciative with this debut. Detective Jo and her partner Pete have aside from just crimes to solve, the pair are reflecting about their lives as detectives along with concentrate on catching a serial killer who murderous acts seems recognizable but different. After looking back about their life, one of the two detectives make a surprising choice, which I didn’t see that coming.

This anointed author allows God to guide the pen to provide a marvelous task by moving from professional to personal with both Jo and Pete in a lively manner paced page-turner from the first page to the last. Also the plot about the murder is pleasantly managed in this page turner. “Jo” Reed-Powell was busy working on solving a murder on her watch as a detective and she felt there are problems in her marriage with Bryan. Bryan is very resentful in Jo’s Career because he feels that she is neglecting her family.  Personally, As I was reading this narrative, I felt that Jo didn’t mean to neglecting her family but she and her partner, Pete was trying to catch a killer. Detective Jo Reed started to feel guilty in her conscience but didn’t want to admit it. Bryan and herself had been gradually spiral disconnected for some time. She hasn’t been praying about her marriage like she did in the beginning of the relationship. Life have really move secretly in and without her realizing it. That invitation was left for the enemy to walk right through to steal, destroy and kill her marriage. It’s okay that you want to do a great job in your career. But if you allow yourself to consume all of your time at work and neglect your family then the devil will invite himself in and destroy your marriage. You must put God first in everything that you do so he can protect you from the enemy. Marriage is sacred by God and it won’t stumble if you allow God in.There were a scene with the Character Pastor Jonathan Freeman mentioned about David in his sermon, “David, a man after God’s own heart. David has made mistakes that cost him, But God remained faithful to His Promises.” Just like David, We are going to make mistakes that might cost us, but God will not forsake us because He will always be faithful to us.  This was a great book that was written by Tyora Moody with the anointed touch of the Holy Spirit. I am looking forward to read more books by this Author. Tyora should really considering to make “Broken Heart” into a Block Buster Movie. I recommend anyone that love reading a story with suspense and Christian Romance then this is the book for you.

Woman In The Mirror: A Case of Mistaken Identity Book Review:

“One of the biggest mistakes a person can ever  make is never realizing who they really are as viewed in the eyes of God, their originator and creator.”  *T.L. Campbell

Congratulations to Tarsha L. Campbell for writing another marvelous powerful book“Woman In The Mirror:  A Case of Mistaken Identity.” This is the second book that I read by this anointed Author. I read “Woman In The Mirror: Ungodly Soul Ties-Break free To Break through”  first before I read “A Case Of Mistaken Identity” in The Woman In The Mirror Series.

When you have a confrontation with people who maliciously accuse you of being the complete opposite of who your heavenly Father says you are, or has purposed you to be. And if you believe the bogus allegations of those who don’t really know you, they can pronounce a death sentence upon you that keep you in bondage and vanquish all God intended you to become. We as Christians need a divine revelation of who we are from our heavenly Father. it is time for us revolutionize the life that God created for us that will outmode every malicious label and negative indictment from others, knowingly and unknowingly, speak over our life, set you free from the bondage of shallow morale, shallow self- worth, self-hatred, and self-doubt; and set us on the path to celestial fulfillment. The Woman In Mirror Series written by Tarsha Campbell in the purpose to minster and empower not only women but also men.  Tarsha mentioned a quote in this book that caught my attention the most, ‘Life is like a house of mirrors. Sometimes it reflects the truth of who God says you really are. Sometimes it reflects a lie. It’s your choice in which you will believe.” A mirror is a surface of glass that forms the image of an object when light hits it. In the spiritual format, the glass surface is our mind. The light that hits our mind is all the information we receive about ourselves through our surroundings, which causes our mind to design an image. The image that we project until it increased information about ourselves outmode the previous wave of information. In the process of glaring into our significant mirrors or be in receipt of information about ourselves from them., we will begin to structure an identity and image based on what we visualize, or in distinction to what our symbolic mirrors speaks into our lives. Tarsha wants her readers to know that God has a plan for your life and that He bring into existence for that purpose. Regardless of the situation that escorted us here on earth, God already have you on His mind before the foundation of the world. We as Christians need to start building a closer relationship with God so He can begins to reveal His plan for our lives. The more we build a closer relationship with the creator of our purpose and destiny, the more we see the big picture God has for our life. When we finally witness that big picture or vision that is revealed, our job is to move toward what we see and allow God completely fulfill that vision. If you are having a problem with your identity that God created for you then I recommend you to read this book with the scriptures that Tarsha L. Campbell provided. If you don’t know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, I recommend you to read this book and after you read the last page then surrender your life to Christ. I recommend you to read “Woman In The Mirror: Ungodly Soul Ties-Break free To Break through” after you finished reading“Woman In The Mirror: A Case of Mistaken Identity.”

About This Book:

What does crazy look like? Let Deborah tell it, it’s the reflection that looks back at her in the mirror. She has a career she loves, two beautiful children and a handsome and successful husband. Her life seems to be the blueprint almost every woman she knows would kill to live. But working full-time, being a full-time mother, full-time wife and a full-time Sunday only Christian seems to be taking its toll on her. With all the scheming and shenanigans Deborah orchestrated to get this lifestyle, she might have to come up with a whole set of new ones to maintain it. Lynox is Deborah’s husband who she thanks God for putting back into her life after a game of cat and mouse that defies the laws of romance. He feels that all Deborah needs is to let her hair down, maybe make some new friends and live a little. When Deborah agrees and then suspects Lynox of having an affair with the woman that he suggested she form a friendship with, will he live to regret his own advice?

One Sunday At A Time Book Review:

In the beginning of this narrative “One Sunday At A Time”, we discover that Lynox Chase was getting ready to leave his wife, Deborah and also taking their two sons with him for their safety. Deborah wasn’t happy at all and the rage was building up inside. It really pained Lynox badly to see his wife acted out like that. He didn’t have any idea how Deborah’s emotions and behavior could shift so erratically. In his mind, Lynox wondering why he and Deborah could experience a joyful night together in the world, but suddenly Deborah would wake up angry at the world? How could a single little thing that threw her off schedule or was not in sync send her on a rampage? That is in the world of Mental Illness really manifested. Usually the loves ones of that person have to deal with and pick up the pieces. I can relate because that how my life was dealing with my mental illness from major depression disorder and anxiety.  I have trouble of handing my anger and I decided to go to treatment with a psychiatrist and a therapist so I can be on the road of recovery. I salute Author E. N. Joy in focusing the subject of Mental Illness through her Characters especially focusing on the African American and the Church Community since it is consider to be a taboo. Also nobody don’t want to talk about mental illness. Deborah Chase was trying to be a super woman by taking on roles as a wife, mother, career woman and a Christian. But she couldn’t handle all of that task and started to have a mental break down. She believe that she pray away the illness and have the Holy ghost that she is cure. Faith without work is dead. Prayer without work is dead. Having the Holy-ghost without work is dead.

“One Sunday At A Time ” is one of those books that you get a sermon that ministers to the readers of the importance about therapy and healing. This narrative takes us on a tumbling expedition. The Author E. N. Joy takes the readers into the circles of mental illness, which often times are taboo in the African American Community and the Church Community. I can relate to the Character of Deborah Chase, I suffer from depression and anxiety and I decided to seek a medical professional that are licensed in Mental Health. Some folks criticized me for seeking help from a professional instead of seeking help from God. Some believe that Christians especially in the black community that as a Christians, you should not have any problem.  God has already healed us. When we pray to God, He is telling us that we as Christians need to walk in it. We need to walk in our healing and walk in our deliverance. “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” The Holy Spirit in each one of us is renewed, It’s re-created in Christ. We must be willing to retrain ourselves according to our spirit of Christ of Christ instead of our old self and traits. Our help will always comes from the Lord, but the Lord puts people and resources right here on earth to help us. Deborah’s adventure is full of surprises and emotional catastrophe. E. N. Joy really created the Characters marvelously and well developed that I can relate to their struggles, anguish, highs, and lows. Just like the character Mother Doreen mentioned to Deborah Chase, it times for us to walk in our healing and walk in our delivery. When we are dealing with illness such as Mental Illness, it is great to communicate God in prayers but God answers our prayers by sending people and resources to help us in our walk in our deliverance and healing. There is nothing wrong seek professional help that are licensed in Mental Health. God wants us to take care of our temple as well our mind so we can do God’s ministry to build up His kingdom. I recommend individuals that love a great Christian Fiction story then “One Sunday At A Time.” There were a lot of great messages from the Characters that minister to me to help me with my spiritual walk with Christ. I am looking forward to read more books by this anointed author. I now have to purchase and read the first book “When All Is Said and Prayed” in this series.

About This Book:

On June 17, 2015, at 9:05 p.m., a young man with a handgun opened fire on a prayer meeting at the Mother Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church in Charleston, South Carolina, killing nine members of the congregation. The captured shooter, twenty-one-year-old Dylan Roof, a white supremacist, was charged with their murders. Two days after the shooting, while Roof’s court hearing was held on video conference, some of the families of his nine victims, one by one, appeared on the screen—forgiving the killer. The “Emanuel Nine” set a profound example for their families, their city, their nation, and indeed the world. Finding Grace not only recounts the events of that terrible day but also offers a history lesson that reveals a deeper look at the suffering, triumph, and even the ongoing rage of the people who formed Mother Emanuel A.M.E. church and the wider denominational movement. In many ways, this church’s story is America’s story—the oldest A.M.E. church in the Deep South fighting for freedom and civil rights but also fighting for grace and understanding. Fighting to transcend bigotry, fraud, hatred, racism, poverty, and misery. The shootings in June 2015, opened up a deep wound of racism that still permeates Southern institutions and remains part of American society. Finding Grace tells the story of a people, continually beaten down, who seem to continually triumph over the worst of adversity. Exploring the storied history of the A.M.E. Church may be a way of explaining the price and power of forgiveness, a way of revealing God’s mercy in the midst of tremendous pain. Finding Grace may help us discover what can be right in a world that so often has gone wrong.

We Are Charleston (Tragedy and Triumph at Mother Emanuel) Book Review:

“We Are Charleston: Tragedy and Triumph at Mother Emanuel” given facts about the side of the story that the readers been waiting for. It is cherish, as only for those in the Community can share their story. No outsiders take in the sights in. All three authors piece together Charleston history, A.M.E(African Methodist Episcopal Church) history and biographies of the murdered together with recent and present politics to prove how little of substance has changed here in the year since the massacre. The narrative timeline of what transpire on and by reason of June 17, 2015 jog one’s memory about how small this city really is. Some of us may know people who know the victims. We as a community who we love are still aching with sadness. We’re reinstated to that night at Marion Square where individuals from diversified communities brought together, where the dilemma was spread by friends and relatives on Calhoun Street. Stunned perplexity! I found this discussion evidently lays out the history of Mother Emanuel AME Church and at present time community. The memorable losses are outlay too. I am just wondering if the families of Denmark Vesey and his friends grieve like what happened on June 17, 2015? What extent of determination did it take for the congregation to rebuild from the destruction of their church in 1822? How many generations passed before the grief de-escalate?

On that dreadful day, Dylan Roof enter into Mother Emanuel AME Church during their Bible Study and the members welcomed him with open hearts. In my opinion that was a beautiful picture of Christian love and analogy for these great believers. They welcomed this stranger regardless the color of his skin into their midst without questions, and now people are left grasping on to that light. Dylan Roof was a by- product of a hatred ideology that seeped out of institutional cycles into the predominant experience and communications with deadly outcome. In President Obama’s Eulogy refresh our memory that Roof’s evil actions meant to develop a race war, instead it directed in the opposite directions. That was from the power of forgiveness in which was design as meaningful than anyone could have imagined. I agreed with President Obama that it defined as “the power of God’s grace.” When those families if the victims, survivors and the congregations of Mother Emanuel allows themselves to forgive, they refused to let hatred win. The whole Community was united in grief and working working toward changes in Charleston. I recommend everyone to buy and read this book for yourself so you can get to know Charleston, the history of the AME Church and the power of forgiveness better. I am learning to be able to start to learn more about the power of forgiveness. This quote of Power of Forgiveness really sum up what the good folks of Mother Bethel allow themselves to do. “When You Choose To Forgive Those Who Have Hurt You, Take Away Their Power.” Lets continue to pray for the Families of the 9 Victims that were taken away from us violently. Also continue to pray for the Mother Emanuel AME Church Family as they move forward in building of God’s Kingdom.  I want to personally thanks Herb Frazier, Dr.Bernard Edward Powers Jr., and Marjory Wentworth for allowing God direct them to work together in writing about the history moments in Charleston, the birth of the Mother Emanuel AME Church and the the role they play in building up the community.

Power For Living Book Review:

“Christians are equipped with the Power For Living because of the anointing of the Holy Spirit. It is up to us to make ourselves available to that power. We are capable of achieving more that we can ever imagined by the power of God designed for us.”

Bishop T.D. Jakes’ book “Power for Living,” the reader will receive an introduction to basic concepts and principles for recognizing their purpose and power through the anointing of the Holy Spirit. This powerful message provides specific tools for receiving answers from God through prayer, discover your focus while seeking Him, and acknowledge the power to live your dreams. This book concentrates on the importance of having an open dialog with God through prayer. Bishop Jake mentioned that God wants us to ask questions through a persistent quest for truth, and by pursuing the favor of God. There were scriptures that relate to the inspiring stories that address an inner focus on the soul transcribe into humanity, self examination, confidence and affirmation. In each chapter includes a feature “Power Points for Living” which is created of suggested guidance for observation, setting up goals, or peculiar actions to be taken for embracing the power for living. Bishop Jakes anointing writing comes from a genuine, heartfelt sense of compassion with a true desire for us to experience the commitment to a passionate follower of God. This is done through His Son Jesus Christ and the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

In this book “Power for Living,” want us to know that there is a purpose in our lives. He takes the time to prevail upon the reader from any mental obstacles. He repeatedly let us to know do not give up because there is a purpose for our life. We must keep on fighting long enough for the will of God to be revealed. Once the believers become persuaded, the foundation has been established. Also the rest of the instruction from the Word of God builds on and brace that fundamental fact. Bishop Jakes teaches us the importance of asking God why. He does that not in the connection of a self pity party, but to gain knowledge that it is the only way to grow spiritually with Him. In your communication with God that you will ask Him to reveal you the revelation in your current situation. After that you will have an understanding and move forward. Sometimes God will not always reveal that reason, but neither God will be offended when you are willing to be his true students to the understanding of the spiritual aspects of tribulations.

If you are looking for your own power for living through Christ, then I definitely recommend you to read this powerful book. This book has two parts that include the different power in our daily life, and 30 power principles designed as devotionals to empower us to face our mental road block. Each Chapter does have an inspiring passage from the Word of God to provide us wisdom for decisions. It will give us comfort in our difficult times. This book will help you to have a better relationship with God. Also, there was a Bonus part that includes tools to help us to release our anointing from God to embrace our power for living. I am so glad that I read this book for myself. This wasn’t the first book that I read by Bishop Jake. Not only that he is an anointed preacher, but he is also a motivational entrepreneur. He offers great tools to help the readers on their successful journey to follow their dreams. He also has great advice for the readers to help them on their spiritual journey with God. This book is perfect for Bible Study, Book Clubs and even for training with your team members for your business. We all need to find our own power for living. I will read this book more than once. This is a great book to keep you motivated. Please make sure that you get this book for yourself.
